From 1 January 2020, Phoenix College has now become Hamilton School, an SEMH special school catering for 64 students in Reading. Maiden Erlegh Trust, a local multi-academy trust of five schools, is sponsoring Hamilton School as a result of its most recent Ofsted inspection.

Staff from Maiden Erlegh Trust have been working closely with the Department for Education, Brighter Futures for Children and also colleagues from Cranbury College alongside Hamilton School staff to ensure the conversion to a special academy took place on 1 Janaury 2020.
